Sevier County Seniors Enjoying Benefits Of Sarah’s Fund

Many Sevier County seniors are benefiting from the Sarah Timmons Activities Program (Sarah’s Fund). Sarah’s Fund honors the legacy of Sarah Scott Timmons.  It provides monthly activities and assistance for Sevier County, TN seniors. Recently, Sarah’s Fund covered transportation and attendance costs for a popular holiday event.

In December, Sarah’s Fund provided transportation and covered the cost of attendance for nearly 30 active seniors during the Christmas Brunch. The brunch is an annual event hosted by The Dolly Parton My People Senior Activity Center in Sevierville, TN. Culinary arts students from Sevier County High School catered the meal and Pigeon Forge’s Legacy Dance Center provided entertainment making it a wonderful community event for all.

Sarah’s Fund was developed in partnership with S.D. Professionals’ President, Jacob Timmons, and the Sevier County Council on Aging staff at the Dolly Parton My People Senior Activity Center. Together they work to identify seniors isolated at home as well as lacking the ability to attend activities outside of their home or healthcare facility.
